I am seriously considering attending the 2013 conference but ... as I live in New Zealand it will mean giving up the best part of summer, travelling for at least 12 hours and knowing nobody!

Can anybody give me a few clues on what weather to expect? Have you attended the conference before? Are you able to suggest places to dine/ visit that aren't on the major tourist maps? Will you be there/
