I have been here all of five minutes and I think I am in love. What a great place for a person like me. I love to write and I have been hoping to find a small though growing community of other writers like me. Large crowds make me nervous...even the internet crowds.
My writing so far consists of young adult action/adventure/fantasy. I aspire to finish all of the hundreds of ideas I have started but to date have only actually finished one book. I am considering making it into series. So I think I will finish editing it for the 75th time and then see about applying some of these new ideas. I have been getting a lot of pressure from friends and husband about publishing the book, which I agreed to, but that idea is a bit scary. I envy the brave writers of the world.
On a personal note, I have been married to the same wonderful man for almost two decades and most of the time we still like each other. :) I am a stay home mom and I have three children. My oldest son is in college majoring in “I don’t know what I want to do, Mom!”, my youngest son is in the army and has recently been deployed to Iraq, and my youngest daughter (my bard) is still home in elementary school. I am starting to run out kids to pull off this stay at home mom gig. For whatever reason the last thing I want to do is work in the field I studied in college. I think I would rather be a writer.

Thanks for accepting me. Looking forward to connecting, all the way from Ontario, Canada!
Hi Susan, thank you for accepting my friendship, I look forward to getting to know you and reading your work!
Hello, Kataia, I'm glad to make your acquaintance; and I agree that SFWsU is a good place for fellow writers to gather. I live on California's Central Coast, in a small town named Morro Bay. So we're not so distant neighbors. Most mornings, no matter the season, I wake up to the sound of a fog horn groaning through the mist. I've been writing for many years, always until recently squeezing my passion for the written word into slips of time bewteen this and that. I'm retired from the workaday world now, writing full-time, hiking the local trails, serving on the board of a county writers' organization, designing web sites, and enjoying the quiet time alone. In your profile you say that you, "only actually finished one book." That's not an "only," Kataia. That's a fine achievement. Good to meet you.
Hi Kataia. Thanks for adding me as a friend. Just wanted to say hello and let you know that your YA novel sounds neat. If you need anyone to read for you, I'm taking a few weeks off and always love a good read.
Cheers,
Liz
I'm trying to send you a message, but can't seem to get it to work right. I've posted a chapter called Warrior's Challenge. As a fellow fantasy writer, I invite you, especially, to comment. I hope to hear from you! Thanks! Mikko
Hi, thanks for adding me.
My writing projects include two re-writes (I know. At the same time?) so I've got my hands full. How about you? Going to SFWC?
