Don't judge a book by the cover, judge it by the book trailer.

I've noticed an increase in book trailers over the last few years. I rarely watch them because I don't want the images or faces to influence the story in my head. Who makes these trailers anyway? Publishers or authors? Is this a marketing tool shown to potential publishers or are they simply to generate buzz about your book?

Why does everything have to be turned into a movie? Can't we leave books to the imagination of the reader?

I've kept a book journal since 2006 and I recently flipped through the pages and realized that 30-40% of the books I've read in the last 5 years have turned into films. This I don't mind. I'd love to see my books turned into films. Films I get. Book trailers, not so much.
