After Mechelle Fogelsong requested that SFWU put up an area where members can post their works in progress (WIP) and get feedback and critiques from other members, and Geoffrey Zimmerman seconded the idea, we did it. Go to the Discussions area and click on Critiques. There you can post your own WIPs (up to 20 pages maximum, please), receive replies and comment on other WIPs. If you find an SFWU member whose comments you really like, send them a private email right here at the university, and you may have found a critique partner for life. The interactivity of this area cannot be beat!

Thank you for including me as one of your friends. I enjoy reading the blogs. I am a published author...What to do When Mom Moves In...all about caregiving. I have a proposal for the second book about Starting Over, a working title, and I am working on the first chapter right now. I look forward to reading and learning everything I can about our craft. Everything I know about writing I learned from books, so it will be wonderful to discuss writing with real writers.

Laurie, I've tried several times to post my WIP in the critiques section, but no matter how I save it with changed margins, I can't get it to format properly. How can I get it to fit the parameters of your format? I'm using WORD, and don't have many other options. What do you suggest?
So cool. Thanks for providing this wonderful forum!
