Does anyone know the dress code for the Gala Party at the SFWC on Friday night? Business casual like the rest of the conference, or something nicer?

I am sooo jealous I do not have this problem.
Wish I were in better health and could join you. I just found out I have enough reward points from my Amazon.com credit card for a free airline ticket anywhere in USA--if I'd have known that, it might have tipped the balance.
I'm so torn. Afraid of hurting myself irreperably if I go, afraid of giving in to my fibromayalgia/RA. But really, why push myself? You all will be there next year and by then I'll have either turned things around or joined a buddest nunnery in Sedona Arizona.
Thanks for the tips, Alexis - I'm looking forward to meeting you (and all) too!
Wear your best smile :-) Honestly, attendees wear all sorts of outfits. Many travel cross-country and prefer to travel "light," mixing and matching wardrobe items throughout the weekend. A pretty scarf or great jewelry can really dress up a basic sweater and slacks outfit. The room is generally lit fairly softly, anyway, so the focus will not be on your clothing. But a radiant smile and friendly eyes will be remembered for years to come. I am so excited. I'm eager to meet you all!
Hi Amy! Gala usually means more formal. I'm wearing an outfit that would be appropriate for a coctail party as opposed to formal event. I'm sure that the entire gamut will be seen though. We artsy types like to be creative!
